The drone strikes are killing civilians and causing anger and a thirst for vengeance. This has been quite obvious to anyone who has cared to pay attention.

We’ve been reporting on this for quite some time now, but with the recent reports on how the Obama administration fudge’s the facts about civilian deaths there is renewed discussion on the effectiveness of the drone attacks:

Why Eric Dondero, Former Aid, is Smearing Ron Paul: He is a Rabid Islamophobe and Sharia Conspiracy Theory Nut

Yesterday, I wrote an article about why Islamophobes hate Ron Paul.

In that same article, I explained some of my own grievances with Dr. Paul, not the least of which were the racist newsletters that were written in his  name.  As they say: Where there is smoke, there is fire.

But there is a disgruntled former aid to Ron Paul named Eric Dondero who is trying to artificially fan the flames by spreading stories about–and against–Ron Paul.

I was first alerted to the story by The Young Turks.  Dondero blogged and tweeted about Ron Paul implying that he was racist, homophobic, anti-Israel, and a 9/11 truther.

The Atlantic reported it this way:

Ex-Aide: Ron Paul’s Foreign Policy is ‘Sheer Lunacy’

A disillusioned former aide publishes scathing allegations, saying that Paul harbors anti-Israel views and is a 9/11 truther.

…[F]ormer Paul staffer Eric Dondero purporting to describe the ins and outs of Paul’s positions on everything from Israel (it shouldn’t exist) to Hitler (we shouldn’t have fought him) to 9/11 (U.S. authorities may have known about the attacks) to Afghanistan (we shouldn’t have invaded). He calls Paul’s foreign policy “sheer lunacy.”

Or, as the conservative Weekly Standard summarized in its headline: “Ex-Aide Says Ron Paul Is a 9/11 Truther & Isolationist Who Thinks U.S. Shouldn’t Have Fought Hitler.”

Eric Dondero’s statements were conveyed in a misleading way, such that many in the media portrayed them to be in defense of Ron Paul.  In fact, as Mediaite has pointed out, Dondero’s message is mixed: Ron Paul is no child molester; he just likes to fondle little boys.

What nobody in the media is doing, however, is critically examining the spurious source of these allegations: Eric Dondero.

A few users on a discussion forum (one I’m unfamiliar with, but a tip of the hat to them for unearthing this) did a bit of digging and found out that Eric Dondero’s blog is full of Islamophobic screeds.

Indeed, Dondero is a rabid Islamophobe and Sharia conspiracy theory nut.  He runs a blog LibertarianRepublican, which is replete with anti-Muslim postings.  For example, Dondero’s blog “is full of Muslims are raping blue eye blond hair Aryan women stories.”  This is not dissimilar to the white nationalist forum Stormfront where one routinely finds threads like this one: “Why do black men rape white women?”

Eric Dondero supports Pamela Geller, the looniest anti-Muslim blogger ever.  She’s the same one behind the so-called Ground Zero Mosque controversy.  Geller posted an article on her blog claiming that Barack Obama was the illegitimate love child of Malcolm X.  She has said that Obama is a Muslim, Jihadist, Pimp, and anti-Semite.  Geller has supported nuclear annihilation of Muslim holy cities and posted a genocidal video on her website.  She has posted a video claiming that Muslims commit bestiality, etc. etc.  The list goes on endlessly.

What does Eric Dondero have to say about Pamela Geller?  He writes of her:

Geller is becomming [sic] the greatest champion of liberty in our time.

Dondero supported Peter King’s McCarthy Hearings Muslim Hearings.  He has sided with the burn a Koran pastor (Terry Jones).  He also buys into the Sharia law is coming to the U.S. conspiracy theory and advocates deportation of Muslims.

On his site, Dondero cites the vitriolic hate site Faith Freedom, which was founded by Ali Sina, a man who openly declares that he hates Islam.  Dondero also relies on the extreme right-wing website World Net Daily, a conspiracy site that promoted the “Obama, show us your birth certificate” nonsense.

As one user on that discussion forum pointed out, this is just the tip of the iceberg: Eric Dondero’s numerous blog posts against Muslims make his site a lot like Jihad Watch and other nutty anti-Muslim sites, such as the one run by the Norwegian anti-Muslim terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.

Dondero opposes Muslim immigration to Western countries; here is one lovely quote from the mouth of Eric Dondero:

NO YOU STUPID FUCKING ASSHOLE. MUSLIM IMMIGRANTS ARE THE PROBLEM.

Are you an American or some fucking Communist/Fascist piece of shit sent to destroy us from within?

Why do you defend the very people who KILLED 3,000 AMERICANS AND CHEERED ALL ACROSS THE MUSLIM WORLD AS IT HAPPENED?

In the same thread, he argues to deport Muslims as “his solution” to “the problem.”

Here is what Dondero says about Muslims and Islam:

This is about an alien culture, coming into our AMERICA AND WESTERN EUROPE and invading us from within.

Why on earth is anyone taking what this guy says seriously?  As a rabid Islamophobe, Eric Dondero has every reason to hate Ron Paul, who fired him long time ago (even before the 2008 election).  Dondero hates Ron Paul for the reasons that every Islamophobe does: (1) Ron Paul opposes Islamophobia against American Muslims; (2) he opposes the Bush-Obama curtailments of civil liberties that specifically target Muslims; and (3) he opposes America’s many wars in the Muslim world.

As I said in my article yesterday, there are plenty of reasons to have deep reservations about Ron Paul, but these recent claims by Eric Dondero should be ignored, because the source is not credible whatsoever.

In the words of Eric Dondero himself:

Call me a dickhead if you wish. But I’m a DICKHEAD FOR LIBERTY.

Well, if you insist.

Update I:

A LW reader named Capauncha, who says he has been reading our website for a long time, seems to be the one who first shed light on Eric Dondero’s Islamophobia.  Capauncha just posted another link to Dondero’s blog in which Dondero reproduces an article from the Philadelphia Weekly:

“My fellow Jews need to buck up,” says Eric Dondero, editor of Libertarian Republican.net, over the phone from Houston. “The big problem right now is Islam and Islamism invading our country. And if they want to continue to move in, we need to fight back. Their culture is coming here.”

Dondero, a former staffer for Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, has blogged extensively about what he calls “creeping Sharia Law” over the past several years. He says if you want to know what Sharia looks like in the United States, all you have to do is look at Europe, where he claims Muslim Europeans have “invaded” the countryside.

“They’re invading Switzerland and a Swedish island called Malmo, where the Muslims are raping all the European and Swedish women,” he says, recalling that city’s reports of lawlessness between the Jewish, Muslim and Neo-Nazi populations. And he fears that if Sharia Law isn’t banned in all states the way it was banned in his, the U.S. is next.

In the words of Antoine Dodson: Hide your kids, hide your wife, hide your husband, because they rapin’ everybody!

Ana Kasparian Calls Robert Spencer a Loser and a Sad Sack of …

Posted in Loon-at-large with tags , , , , , , , , , on December 20, 2011 by loonwatch

The whole All-American Muslim controversy had the upside of giving birth to this video by The Young Turks.  Ana Kasparian basically calls JihadWatch’s Robert Spencer a loser and a sad sack of …

Cenk Uygur calls Robert Spencer a “clown-o-ramo” and his site to be “full of morons.” Ana Kasparian delivers the elbow from the sky when she asks: “How depressing is it that you dedicate any time at all to creating a website called JihadWatch?”

Ana, believe it or not but this portly man named Robert Spencer has dedicated his entire life to blogging about jihad.  This grown man is nearing the age of 50 and this is how he not only spends his time but it’s his career.

Whenever I visit Neo-Nazi websites like Stormfront (which I do from time to time in order to marvel at the sheer insanity found there), I cannot help but marvel at how these people are obsessing over how much they hate “the blacks”.  Don’t these grown men have anything else to worry about?  Families, mortgages, actual careers?  What could be sadder than a group of old white men meeting in uniform to talk about how much they love Hitler?

It’s the same hate and level of obsession on JihadWatch.  Robert Spencer is their Grand Wizard, and they are all absolute, 100% total losers.  Their unhealthy level of obsessional hatred scares away friends and makes it impossible for them to ever get dates from normal women.  So, most of them hide this hatred in real life and just spend hours trolling the net in their basement.

As for Robert Spencer, one has to wonder what set him off: maybe some Muslim girl broke his heart long time ago by getting with some Muslim dude.  Now, Spencer is getting his revenge out on all Muslims.

That’s very similar to the founder of the Florida Family Association, the man behind the whole All-American Muslim controversy: his reason for dedicating his whole life to hatred has something to do with how he hates himself for being a frustrated porn addict:

Fox “News”: Evil Muslims Behind Occupy Wall Street

Posted in Feature, Loon Politics, Loon-at-large with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on October 29, 2011 by loonwatch

Well, that didn’t take long.  Fox “News” had Dick Morris on, who claimed that the Evil Muslims are behind the Occupy Wall Street movement.  Watch the video yourself (h/t Young Turks)–the fun part about “the Moozlums” comes near the end of the clip around 5:15:

Notice how Morris says: “It’s come out that they [Occupy Wall Street] are Anti-Semitic, that the Mozlem groups are involved…”

So, if any Muslim group is involved, that’s bad?  No Muslims are ever allowed to join anything at any time anywhere?  Should American movements from now on have a “No Muslim” Policy like the GOP does?

And I love how he equates “Anti-Semitic” with “Muslim,” as if they are interchangeable.  Occupy Wall Street is not Anti-Semitic, but I’ll tell you who is Islamophobic: Dick Morris, Bill O’Reilly, and Fox “News.”

These people make me furious, and are the reason I spend so much of my very limited free time writing for this site.

Right Wing Radio Host Hopes NY Mosque is Blown Up

Posted in Feature, Loon-at-large with tags , , , , , , on June 10, 2010 by loonwatch
Michael Berry is un-American

I just discussed the profound double standards in the mainstream media here.  Here’s another one: right wing radio host Michael Berry says that he hopes someone blows up a mosque should one be constructed.  Remember when the Revolution Muslim clowns posted on some obscure internet forum saying that the producers of South Park might end up being killed?  These radical Muslims didn’t say they would kill anyone, or even that they hope for that (although you can and should read between the lines).

Yet, now we have someone who has upped the ante and said that he hopes a mosque is blown up.  Imagine the ruckus if a Muslim American leader said that he hopes a church or synagogue should be blown up.  The story would go viral, and the mainstream media would whip up a storm of crazy.  Meanwhile, Michael Berry says that he hopes a mosque should be blown up, and the story barely gets any coverage whatsoever.  It certainly doesn’t evoke a sense of national panic as a similar case would should Revolution Muslim publish a statement saying “we hope such-and-such Jewish synagogue is blown up.”

[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJDizmNgrd0 300 250]

When Berry asks “what is your real name”, by this he means to say that only people with white names are real Americans.  Sorry to say, buddy, but our president is named Barack Hussein Obama.  Don’t like that?  Then you can leave this country.  If you don’t believe in our pluralistic society, then you can go to the Israeli Occupied Territories, the last place on earth where racial apartheid is in place.  But here in the U.S., we believe your name can be Barack Hussein Obama, Sanjay Gupta, or Muhammad Ali…and such people are just as American as Bob, Pete, and Michael.

As for his tribalistic response dividing the world into “us vs. them”, this is the same type of mentality exemplified by the jihadists.  What do Muslim Americans–many of whom were born and raised in the United States–have to do with what happens in Saudi Arabia?  Are all Muslims the Borg?  Are they somehow one sentient being?  If some Muslims in Saudi Arabia do something then that somehow falls on the shoulders of all Muslim Americans?  If some Muslims in Saudi Arabia prevent churches in Saudi Arabia, then Muslim Americans should pay for that and not be allowed to build mosques in America?  What is ironic is that this typifies the tu quoque fallacy that Robert Spencer and the rest of the Islamophobic world invokes when questioned about their two-faced hypocrisy.

Glenn Greenwald responded to this “tribalistic response” by pointing out that we wouldn’t fair so well in such an “us vs. them” comparison when it is considered that we are invading at least five Muslim countries, occupying two, launching illegal attacks against others, killing thousands of Muslim civilians, aiding the state of Israel in the enforcement of the most inhumane blockade today, etc. etc. etc.  The list goes on and on.  If you want the Official List and Score Chart, go ask Usama bin Ladin for it, because he likes tallying up the rights and wrongs of Team Muslim vs. Team Christian, which is the “us vs. them” mentality that is shared by Islamophobes and radical Muslims alike.

Berry’s guest, Tony, is wrong about one thing: Tony is not just as American as Berry.  Tony is way more American.  This country was founded upon the freedom of religion, which includes the right to build mosques.  Michael Berry is quite simply un-American if he can’t understand that.

Muslim Woman Denied Foster Kids Because She Doesn’t Eat Bacon

The part I find most interesting about this is how loons always come up with justifications to hide their blatant Islamophobia.  Here, they argue that the woman is being “inflexible” with regard to her no-pork diet.  Obviously, this is a bunch of baloney, since (as the ACLU rightfully points out) I doubt they would have denied fosterhood to strict vegetarians.  But somehow when you throw in Islam and Muslims into the mix, suddenly these sorts of justifications make sense.  It has nothing to do with pork: it has to do with Islamophobia, plain and simple.  Robert Spencer and Pam Geller will obviously come to the swift defense of bigotry here, and it really shows how they are on the wrong side of history.  They will have egg (and ham) on their faces, just as those people who discriminated against blacks in the sixties are now scorned.
